2017 OVL All-Star Game Information

The Ohio Valley League All-Star Game will be taken place on July 9th at the Dubois County Bombers’ Home in League Stadium (Huntingburg, IN) with the gates opening at 4:00 PM EST and activities beginning at 4:30 PM EST.

 

The East team will be coached by the Dubois County Bombers’ skipper, Andy Lasher, and the West team will be coached by the Hoptown Hoppers’ manager, Keirce Kimbel. Each head coach from all 8 teams will select 4 All Stars from his team which will be 16 players and then all coaches will select among themselves another 12 players for a total of 28 players per team. Each team will have 12 pitchers and 16 position players. The game will consist of 9 innings with the position players playing 1/2 of the game and each pitcher will throw 1 inning or less. The special events will take place at the following times:

 

Gates open for fans 4:00 PM
Home Run Derby 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Strongest Arm and Fastest Runner 5:30 PM - 6:15 PM
Field Prep 6:15 PM - 6:45 PM
Awards presentation 6:45 PM - 6:55 PM
OVL All-Star Game 7:00 PM
MVP Presentation After the game (times might vary)

Additional Information:

  • The East team will be the home team.
  • The winners of the events will be recognized before the game and an MVP of the game will be chosen by the coaches and awarded after the game.
  • Aluminum bats will be used for the home run derby.
  • All Star jerseys will be provided for all players and coaches sponsored by BSN Sports of Martin, TN and Russell Athletic.
  • Event and game balls will be provided by Diamond.
  • Event awards and game bats will be provided by Old Hickory Bat Company. 
  • Momento caps for players and coaches will be provided by The Game Cap Co.
