Alazaus Throws No-Hitter As Franklin Duelers Triumphs Over Madisonville Miners


Brant Alazaus was brilliant on the pitcher's mound on Thursday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead Franklin Duelers past Madisonville Miners 11-0.

James Marcinkowski led Franklin Duelers to victory by driving in five runs. He went 2-for-4 at the plate. Marcinkowski drove in runs on a grand slam in the fifth.

Franklin Duelers got on the board in the first inning when Ethan Shelton hit a solo homer.

Franklin Duelers tallied eight runs in the fifth inning. Franklin Duelers big bats were led by Jordan Blick, Marcos Hernandez, Sean Becker, and Marcinkowski, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Alazaus earned the victory on the mound for Franklin Duelers. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out ten and walking one.

Griffin Lape took the loss for Madisonville Miners. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out seven.

Franklin Duelers tallied two home runs on the day. Shelton went deep in the first inning. Marcinkowski had a homer in the fifth inning.

Franklin Duelers scattered nine hits in the game. Shelton, Orlando Arevalo, and Marcinkowski all had multiple hits for Franklin Duelers. Marcinkowski, Arevalo, and Shelton each managed two hits to lead Franklin Duelers.
