Bats Blistered As Dubois County Bombers Falls To Paducah Chiefs In High-Scoring Game

Dubois County Bombers's bats were strong against Paducah Chiefs on Saturday, but it wasn't enough as Dubois County Bombers fell 12-8.

Dubois County Bombers got things moving in the first inning, when Evan Kahre singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Paducah Chiefs evened things up at one in the top of the second inning when Carson Shacklett's sac fly scored one run for Paducah Chiefs.

Paducah Chiefs pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Drew Hudson doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and Grayson Taylor homered on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Dubois County Bombers notched four runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by a sac fly by Zuriel Collins and a groundout by Marcus Hill.

Paducah Chiefs scored five runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by Paducah Chiefs was led by John Michael Russ, Shacklett, James Dodd, and Hudson, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Sawyer Smallwood got the win for Paducah Chiefs. He allowed nine hits and six runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Palmer Campbell and Braden Mork entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Bennett Shoptaw took the loss for Dubois County Bombers. He surrendered seven runs on six hits over three and a third innings, striking out three.

Dubois County Bombers racked up 12 hits on the day. Matt Ellis, Chase Hug, and Austin Duffy all managed multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Duffy, Hug, and Ellis each collected two hits to lead Dubois County Bombers.

Paducah Chiefs scattered 13 hits in the game. Dodd, Shea Estin, Russ, and Ja'lil Akbar all managed multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Dodd led Paducah Chiefs with three hits in four at bats.
