Despite Strong Fight, Paducah Chiefs Can't Top Owensboro RiverDawgs

Paducah Chiefs's effort to come back from down five runs in the eighth inning came up just short, as they fell 7-6 to Owensboro RiverDawgs on Tuesday. Paducah Chiefs scored one run on a single in the eighth inning.

Paducah Chiefs was right in it until Owensboro RiverDawgs doubled in the eighth inning.

In the first inning, Owensboro RiverDawgs got their offense started when Bailey Falkenstein's sac fly scored two runs for Owensboro RiverDawgs.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Paducah Chiefs tied things up at two. Ja'lil Akbar singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Drake Hamil got the win for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He surrendered one run on one hit over one inning, striking out two and walking zero. Holden Martin and Ian Ellis entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

James Dodd took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. He allowed five hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Cameron Harvey started the game for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out three Hale Sims started the game for Paducah Chiefs. He went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four.

Paducah Chiefs smacked one home run on the day. Drew Hudson had a homer in the eighth inning.
