Early Lead For Hoptown Hoppers Seals Fate For Franklin Duelers

Franklin Duelers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 6-3 loss to Hoptown Hoppers on Friday. Hoptown Hoppers scored on a double by Jacob Jenkins, a walk by Cade Burkey, and a single by Brant Husser in the first inning.

Hoptown Hoppers got things moving in the first inning. Jenkins doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Brennan Crooms got the start for Hoptown Hoppers. He surrendered two runs on three hits over two innings, striking out four.
David Hall was on the hill for Franklin Duelers. He went four innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out eight. Mickey Foytik threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Franklin Duelers launched one home run on the day. Travis Faix put one out in the first inning.

Orlando Arevalo, Jordan Blick, Ethan Shelton, and Faix all had one hit to lead Franklin Duelers.

Hoptown Hoppers collected seven hits on the day. Drew McGowan, Jenkins, and Husser all managed multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. McGowan went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Hoptown Hoppers in hits. Hoptown Hoppers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Jordan Wendel made the most plays with 14.
