Fulton Railroaders Stymied By Dubois County Bombers, Lose 13-5


Fulton Railroaders had a tough time generating runs on Friday, dropping their game with Dubois County Bombers 13-5.

Fulton Railroaders took an early lead in the second inning. O’Neil Burgos singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Dubois County Bombers took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Matt Joslin hit a solo homer and Tyler Van Pelt singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Fulton Railroaders put up three runs in the second inning. Fulton Railroaders batters contributing to the big inning included Garrett Guymon, Nathan Bynum, and Burgos, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Dubois County Bombers scored four runs in the ninth inning. Dubois County Bombers's big inning was driven by a single by Easton Stewart, a home run by Tyler Best, and an error on a ball put in play by Joslin.

Samuel Steimel pitched Dubois County Bombers to victory. He allowed seven hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two. Alex Franklin and Brennan LaBarbera entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Colin Millar took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. He went two and a third innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out four.

Fulton Railroaders launched one home run on the day. Guymon went yard in the second inning. Burgos led Fulton Railroaders with three hits in five at bats.

Dubois County Bombers saw the ball well today, racking up 15 hits in the game. Best, Marcus Hill, Stewart, Van Pelt, and Bryson McNay each collected multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Best went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Dubois County Bombers in hits.
