Hoppers continued their winning ways beating the Railroaders 16-8


The Hoppers continued their winning ways beating the Railroaders in Fulton. While the Railroaders were able to keep the final score it close in their first 3 games, they couldn't control the Hoptown bats on Sunday, which produced 17 hits total in the game. The Railroader also committed 6 errors contributing to 6 unearned runs for the Hoppers.

Hoptown jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first 2 innings before Fulton took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the second off a grand slam homerun by Carrington Wilson. The Hoppers regained the lead for good in the fourth inning scoring 7 runs off five hits. With the score 9-4, the Railroaders added 2 runs each in the fourth and seventh innings. The Hoppers continued to runs in the fifth and seventh through ninth innings to complete their 16 total.

Starting pitcher Alex Walker earned the win for Hoptown for 6 innings of work. Seth Rayburn takes the loss for Fulton for 1 1/3 innings in relief. The Hoppers used 3 pitchers total as the Railroaders use 7 pitchers in the losing the cause. Both teams are off on Monday.
