Hoptown Hoppers Grabs Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Paducah Chiefs

Hoptown Hoppers snagged a late lead and defeated Paducah Chiefs 6-4 on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with Hoptown Hoppers batting in the bottom of the eighth when Cameron Hill grounded out, scoring one run.

Paducah Chiefs opened up scoring in the first inning. Grayson Taylor grounded out, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers put up three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a walk by Robbie McCargar and a single by Brennan Crooms.

Wyatt Stevenson pitched Hoptown Hoppers to victory. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out two and walking one.

Palmer Campbell took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. He lasted two innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Lane Diuguid started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. He lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out seven Nick King started the game for Paducah Chiefs. He surrendered three runs on three hits over four innings, striking out five.

Hoptown Hoppers totaled eight hits. Seth Bennett and Crooms each collected multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Crooms and Bennett each collected two hits to lead Hoptown Hoppers.
