Madisonville Miners Can't Catch Up To Henderson Flash

Madisonville Miners fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 13-9 loss to Henderson Flash on Monday. Henderson Flash scored on a sacrifice fly by Justen Freeman in the first inning, a double by Brandon Boxer in the first inning, and a single by Nolan Melton in the second inning.

Despite the loss, Madisonville Miners did collect 12 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Henderson Flash had 16 hits on the way to victory.

Henderson Flash opened up scoring in the first inning, when Freeman's sac fly scored one run for Henderson Flash.

Mason White got the win for Henderson Flash. He surrendered two runs on two hits over four and a third innings, striking out four. Matthew Craven, Bryce Thomas, and Jon Cato all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Craven recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Henderson Flash.

Griffin Lape took the loss for Madisonville Miners. He allowed six hits and eight runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four.

Madisonville Miners totaled 12 hits in the game. Colton Olasin, Ben Teel, and Cam Diaz each racked up multiple hits for Madisonville Miners. Olasin went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Madisonville Miners in hits.

Henderson Flash had 16 hits in the game. Boxer, Trevor Campbell, Derek Wagner, Gunner Smith, and Melton each managed multiple hits for Henderson Flash. Boxer led Henderson Flash with three hits in five at bats.
