​Madisonville Miners Takes High-Scoring Game From Paducah Chiefs, 12-6


Both pitching staffs had their hands full on Friday in a high-scoring affair where Madisonville Miners bested Paducah Chiefs, 12-6.

Madisonville Miners captured the lead in the second inning. Bryce Bulls was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

Madisonville Miners took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Charlie Szykowny doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Jacob Council grounded out, scoring one run, and Colton Olasin singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Adam Weining earned the win for Madisonville Miners. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over four innings, striking out three. Mason Libla threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Hale Sims took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. He lasted three innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out three and walking one.

Eli Campbell started the game for Paducah Chiefs. He lasted one and one-third innings, allowing three hits and four runs Griffin Lape started the game for Madisonville Miners. He lasted four innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Paducah Chiefs mashed two home runs on the day. Pierce Mitchum put one out in the first inning. Brenton Tidd went yard in the third inning.

Madisonville Miners totaled 13 hits in the game. Council, Alex Rodriguez, Olasin, and Jackson Jarvis each had multiple hits for Madisonville Miners. Rodriguez and Council each collected three hits to lead Madisonville Miners.

Paducah Chiefs saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Ja'lil Akbar, Lofton Pigg, John Michael Russ, and Mitchum all managed multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Akbar went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Paducah Chiefs in hits.
