Owensboro RiverDawgs Falls To Hoptown Hoppers After Sixth Inning Score


Owensboro RiverDawgs lost the lead late in a 7-3 defeat to Hoptown Hoppers on Thursday. The game was tied at one with Hoptown Hoppers batting in the top of the sixth when Brendan Nee was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

Hoptown Hoppers opened up scoring in the second inning, when Seth Bennett's sac fly scored one run for Hoptown Hoppers.
Owensboro RiverDawgs knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Josh Bennett doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers pulled away for good with four runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Nee was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Drew McGowan singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, and Ben Huber singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Lane Diuguid was credited with the victory for Hoptown Hoppers. He surrendered one run on two hits over eight innings, striking out eight. Hunter Arnold threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Caleb Dubois took the loss for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He surrendered four runs on four hits over two innings, striking out two.

Bennett went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hoptown Hoppers in hits. Hoptown Hoppers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Huber made the most plays with 11.
