Owensboro RiverDawgs Stymied By Dubois County Bombers, Lose 15-1


Game 1 of Round One

Owensboro RiverDawgs couldn't keep up with Dubois County Bombers and fell 15-1 on Friday.

Dubois County Bombers fired up the offense in the first inning. Matt Ellis singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Owensboro RiverDawgs tied things up at one. Ian Ellis drove in one when he singled.

Dubois County Bombers pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Dubois County Bombers scored on a stolen base during Britton Graham's at bat. Then Graham singled.

Dubois County Bombers scored six runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by Dubois County Bombers was led by Benji Brokemond, Chase Hug, and Tyler Van Pelt, all driving in runs in the inning.

Patrick Queener was the winning pitcher for Dubois County Bombers. He lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out four and walking zero.

Ian Ellis took the loss for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He lasted four innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out two.

Ellis went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Owensboro RiverDawgs in hits.

Dubois County Bombers saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Brokemond, Tyler Best, and Graham each had multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Brokemond led Dubois County Bombers with five hits in five at bats. Dubois County Bombers didn't commit a single error in the field. Hug had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
