The Dubois County Bombers Can't Hold Up Against the Muhlenberg County Stallions


The Dubois County Bombers had trouble keeping up with the Muhlenberg County Stallions in a 6-4 loss on Monday.

The Stallions captured the lead in the third inning. An error scored one run for Muhlenberg County.

After the Stallions scored one run in the top of the ninth, the Bombers answered with one of their own. Muhlenberg County scored when Chris Gambert doubled off of Jake Slunder, driving in one run. Dubois County then answered when Hunter Childress grounded out, scoring one run.

The Stallions took the lead for good with four runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth David Ellis walked Gambert to drive in a run, Tyler Burns hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, and Michael Brown singled off of Ellis, driving in two runs.

Brooks Warren earned the win for Muhlenberg County. He tossed six innings, giving up two runs, three hits, and striking out four. Austin Toth recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for the Stallions. Ellis took the loss for the Bombers. He threw two innings, allowing four runs, and three hits.

Ryan Gulledge started the game for Dubois County. He tossed three innings, giving up one run, two hits, striking out five, and walking one.

Childress, Caleb Wagner, Brandon Smith, Alex Alders, Logan Moseley, and Jordan Libman all had one hit to lead the Bombers.

Muhlenberg County collected six hits. Alfred Cruz and Gambert each collected multiple hits for the Stallions.
