The Dubois County Bombers Claw Back, But Fall Just Short Against the Henderson Flash

The Dubois County Bombers fought back after falling down by seven runs in the eighth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 9-8 defeat to the Henderson Flash on Tuesday. Dubois County scored five runs in the failed comeback on a by Camdon Mercier in the eighth, a in the ninth, a passed ball in the ninth, a single by Brandon Smith in the ninth, and a walk in the ninth.

The Bombers was right in it until Henderson singled in the sixth inning

Dubois County captured the lead in the first inning. Alex Alders singled on a 1-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run.

The Flash knotted the game up at two in the top of the fifth inning. An error scored one run for Henderson.

The Flash took the lead for good with two runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Aaron Euler singled off of Ryan Gulledge, driving in one run and there was an error, scoring one run.

The Bombers scored five runs in the ninth inning. Dubois County scored on a passed ball , a single by Brandon Smith, and a walk.

The Henderson Flash scored five runs in the eighth inning. The big inning for the Flash came thanks to a single by Euler, a single by Brodie Brown, and a error.

Brantley Flanagan earned the win for Henderson. He pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs, five hits, and striking out four. Renton Poole took the loss for Dubois County. He tossed five and a third innings, allowing four runs, four hits, and striking out one.

Marty Coursey started the game for the Flash. He went three innings, giving up two runs, five hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

The Bombers collected 11 hits. Alders and Smith each collected multiple hits for Dubois County. Smith and Alders each collected three hits to the Bombers.

The Flash had eight hits in the game. Jordan Schaffer, Euler, and Zach Smith each collected multiple hits for the Henderson Flash.
