The Paducah Chiefs defeat the Fulton Railroaders, 8-3
28-Jun-2017 Chiefs 8, Railroaders 3. (June 28, 2017) The Chiefs win in Fulton to complete a two game sweep of the Railroaders. The victory for Paducah moved them into
3rd position in the West standings and sent Fulton to bottom in the division. The Chiefs had 13 hits, one error and left 10 men on base. The Railroaders
totaled 10 hits, had 3 errors and stranded 13 runners.
The Chiefs scored 3 runs in the first inning for an early lead and added 4 more scores in the 4th to extend to a 7-0 lead. The Railroaders finally scored
3 runs in the 5th only to see the Chiefs add another run in the 6th to complete the 8-3 final.
Blake Johnson lead Paducah at the plate going 3 for 5 to include a 2 RBI homerun and a double, and he scored 3 times. Tate Mathis was 4 for 5 with
one score, and Travis Regalado 1 of 4 for 2 RBI.
Will Acuff was best for Fulton for 3 or 4, scoring all the Railroaders runs with a 3 RBI homerun.
Starter Grant Williams get the win for 5 innings pitched allowing 7 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks and had 6 strikeouts. Joshua Scheer and Colton Easterwood
closed out the game pitching 2 innings each.
James Geiger takes the loss for Fulton only pitching the first inning giving up 2 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks and no strikeouts. Fulton sent five additional
pitchers to the mound in the losing cause.
