Railroaders 9, Miners 8. (July 7, 2017) The Railroaders fend off a final inning surge by the Miners to win 9-8 in Fulton. The Railroader tallied 13
hits, 2 errors and left 7 runners on base while the Miners totaled 10 hits, committed 4 errors and also stranded 7 men.
Fulton took a 1-0 lead after two innings of play. Madisonville scored one in the top of the 3rd inning to tie only to see Fulton retake the lead in
the bottom half of the inning scoring a go ahead run. Top of the 4th the Miners scored a single run to tie the game again with a 2-2 score.
In the top of the 5th the Miners moved ahead for their only lead in the game scoring one run. The Railroaders quickly answered in the bottom half and
regained the lead putting up 3 runs for 5-3 lead.
The Miners scored another single run in the 6th inning to drawn within one run of the Railroaders. Fulton then added a run in the 7th and 3 more in
the 8th for a commanding 9-4 lead going into the final inning of play.
Madisonville mounted their comeback in the 9th inning scoring 4 and had the tying run on 2nd base before a fly out to center ended the game.
For the Railroaders: Hunter Higdon went 4 for 5 with 2 RBI and scored once, Andres Rapoza was 2 of 4 for 3 RBI, and Will Acuff added a solo homerun
in the effort.
For the Miners: David Robins was 1 of 3 for 2 RBI and scored once, and Bradley Hull went 2 for 3, one RBI and scored twice.
Reliever James Geiger gets the win for 2 innings pitched allowing 4 hits, 2 runs (one earned), no walk and had 5 strikeouts. Noah Stern earned a save
to get the final out of the game.
Starter Jack Bellinger takes loss for Madisonville for 4 1/3 innings responsible for the go ahead run for Fulton. He gave up 4 hits, tagged for 4 runs
(2 earned), 4 walks and had one strikeout.
