Chiefs beat the Railroaders, 5-2


(From Fulton) Five unearned runs for the Paducah Chiefs' in the first two innings were enough to beat the home team Fulton Railroaders on Tuesday. The Chiefs took advantage of errors and passed balls by the Railroaders to score their win.

The Railroaders scored one unearned run in the 7th inning. Fulton added their final run in the 9th from a solo homerun by Cody Mitchell, his third on the season.

Chiefs' starter Trevor McMurray gets the win for 7 innings of outstanding work on the mound. He struck out 13 batters, walked 2, allowed only 4 hits and one unearned run. Taylor Bobo takes the hard loss for 6 innings of work with 5 strikeouts, no walks, allowed 4 hits and tagged with 5 unearned runs.

The win for the Chiefs moves them ahead of the Railroaders who now move to the bottom of the West Division.
