Franklin Duelers Falls To Paducah Chiefs After Seventh Inning Score

Sunday's game against Paducah Chiefs was a heartbreaker for Franklin Duelers, as they lost the lead late in a 14-7 defeat. The game was tied at four with Paducah Chiefs batting in the top of the seventh when Lofton Pigg doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Despite the loss, Franklin Duelers did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Paducah Chiefs had 13 hits on the way to victory.

Paducah Chiefs got things started in the second inning. Pigg hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.

Brady Austin was the winning pitcher for Paducah Chiefs. He lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Branon Pope took the loss for Franklin Duelers. He allowed 11 hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Franklin Duelers tallied two home runs on the day. Ethan Shelton had a dinger in the fourth inning. Travis Faix went yard in the seventh inning.

Franklin Duelers collected eight hits. Faix and Shelton all had multiple hits for Franklin Duelers. Shelton and Faix all had two hits to lead Franklin Duelers.

Paducah Chiefs collected 13 hits on the day. Alan Roden, Pigg, Shea Estrin, and Drew Hudson each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Roden went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Paducah Chiefs in hits.
