Henderson Flash Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Muhlenberg County Stallions


Game 1 of the Doubleheader

Henderson Flash stole the lead late and defeated Muhlenberg County Stallions 9-7 on Saturday. The game was tied at six with Henderson Flash batting in the bottom of the fifth when Brandon Boxer doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

A five-run lead in the fourth inning was just enough for Henderson Flash to hold off Muhlenberg County Stallions for the victory. Muhlenberg County Stallions managed seven runs in the failed comeback. Will Myers, Cal Johnston, Luke Price, Tucker Jordan, Anthony Hennings, and Jake Edwards all picked up RBIs in the rally.

Henderson Flash opened up scoring in the first inning. Trevor Campbell drew a walk, scoring one run.

Paul Perez got the win for Henderson Flash. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one. Jared Hart threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Nick Casey took the loss for Muhlenberg County Stallions. He went two innings, allowing four runs on four hits.
Matthew Craven started the game for Henderson Flash. He went four and a third innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out one Trey Boren started the game for Muhlenberg County Stallions. He surrendered five runs on five hits over four innings, striking out four.

Henderson Flash launched one home run on the day. Austin Domer had a homer in the sixth inning.

Henderson Flash had nine hits in the game. Boxer and Josh Johnston all managed multiple hits for Henderson Flash. Johnston and Boxer all had two hits to lead Henderson Flash.

Muhlenberg County Stallions racked up eight hits. Hennings, Jordan, and Price all managed multiple hits for Muhlenberg County Stallions.
