Higdon's Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Owensboro RiverDawgs Victory Over Dubois County Bombers


Game 1 of the Doubleheader

Owensboro RiverDawgs defeated Dubois County Bombers 8-7 on Saturday thanks to a walk-off fielder's choice. The game was tied at seven with Owensboro RiverDawgs batting in the bottom of the ninth when Devin Morris induced Brady Higdon to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Owensboro RiverDawgs collected 16 hits and Dubois County Bombers had ten.

Dubois County Bombers got on the board in the first inning when Austin Duffy drew a walk, scoring one run.

Owensboro RiverDawgs tallied three runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Kirk Liebert and Ian Ellis.

Bo Robison earned the victory on the mound for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He went three innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out three and walking zero.

Morris took the loss for Dubois County Bombers. He lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing two hits and two runs while walking zero.

Brenden Bube started the game for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He lasted six innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out five Alex Franklin started the game for Dubois County Bombers. He allowed six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Owensboro RiverDawgs socked two home runs on the day. Josh Bennett went yard in the seventh inning. Ellis went for the long ball in the ninth inning.

Owensboro RiverDawgs racked up 16 hits on the day. Parker Stahlman, Ellis, Liebert, Jacob White, Bennett, and Michael Wymann all had multiple hits for Owensboro RiverDawgs. Wymann, Bennett, White, Liebert, Ellis, and Stahlman each collected two hits to lead Owensboro RiverDawgs.

Dubois County Bombers racked up ten hits in the game. Bryson McNay and Britton Graham each had multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. McNay went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Dubois County Bombers in hits.
