McGill Throws Shutout As Dubois County Bombers Defeats Madisonville Miners

Benton McGill threw a gem on Thursday for Dubois County Bombers, allowing zero runs and besting Madisonville Miners by a score of 7-0.

Dubois County Bombers opened up scoring in the first inning, when Matt Joslin singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Dubois County Bombers notched three runs in the fifth inning. Tyler Best, Benji Brokemond, and Jalen (JJ) Woolwine powered the big inning with RBIs.

A single by Cobe Hutchison in the third inning was a positive for Madisonville Miners.

McGill was the winning pitcher for Dubois County Bombers. He lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out six.

Trevor Smith took the loss for Madisonville Miners. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out three.

Dubois County Bombers racked up seven hits on the day. Marcus Hill, Joslin, and Austin Duffy all collected multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Duffy, Joslin, and Hill each managed two hits to lead Dubois County Bombers. Dubois County Bombers didn't commit a single error in the field. Matt Ellis had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
