Owensboro RiverDawgs Sets The Stage For Victory With Early Lead Over Madisonville Miners


Game 2 of the Doubleheader

Owensboro RiverDawgs jumped out to an early lead over Madisonville Miners and took home a 6-4 victory on Tuesday.

Owensboro RiverDawgs scored on a single by Manny Gonzalez in the first inning, a walk by Michael Wymann in the first inning, and a home run by Kirk Liebert in the second inning.

Owensboro RiverDawgs pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Liebert homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Huston Richter got the win for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out six. Holden Martin and Drake Hamil entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Hamil recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Owensboro RiverDawgs.

Adam Weining took the loss for Madisonville Miners. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out three.

Owensboro RiverDawgs smacked one home run on the day. Liebert had a dinger in the second inning.

Liebert went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Owensboro RiverDawgs in hits.

Madisonville Miners collected seven hits. Ricky Sisto and Michael Sookdeo each collected multiple hits for Madisonville Miners.
