Shepherd's Walkoff Gives the Dubois County Bombers Victory Over the Owensboro Oilers


The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Owensboro Oilers 4-3 on Wednesday thanks to a walk-off error. The game was tied at three with Dubois County batting in the bottom of the ninth when there was an error, scoring one run.

Owensboro took an early lead in the second inning. Cody Jackson grounded out, scoring one run.

The Oilers evened things up at three in the top of the eighth inning. With one out in the eighth inning Jose Martinez Jr. drove in one run when he doubled.

Willie Poe earned the win for the Bombers. He went one and two-thirds innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, striking out one, and walking zero. Michael Rotenberry took the loss for Owensboro. He threw two-thirds of an inning, surrendering one run, two hits, and walking one.

Tyler Hagedorn started the game for Dubois County. He threw seven and a third innings, giving up three runs, four hits, striking out four, and walking one. Jacob Curry started the game for the Oilers. He went eight innings, surrendering three runs, eight hits, and striking out five.

The Bombers had ten hits in the game. Bryce Krizan and Jaxson Blair each collected multiple hits for Dubois County. Krizan and Zack Gray each drove in one run to lead the Bombers.
