Ten-run seventh lifts Chiefs past Miners

PADUCAH -- The Paducah Chiefs plated 10-runs in the seventh inning and went on to beat the Madisonville Miners 12-6 Friday night in Ohio Valley League action at Brooks Stadium.

The Chiefs trailed 3-2 entering the home seventh but Keegan Breese led off with a double, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Brandon Kelley's squeeze bunt. Reid Pope and Nick Shumaker also added two-run singles during the frame, as Paducah (6-8) sent 16 batters to the plate and came out leading 12-3.

Madisonville (5-9) scored three in the ninth for the final margin. Grant Williams (1-1) earned the victory, tossing seven innings and allowing three runs. Schumaker went 3-for-5 and had three RBI to lead the Chiefs' 14-hit attack.

Reliever Jack Bellinger (0-1) took the loss. He gave up three runs in two-thirds of an inning. Sam Browning had three hits for the Miners.
