The Henderson Flash take down the Fulton Railroaders 6-4


Flash 6, Railroaders 4. For the second night in a row the Flash took out the Railroaders, this time in Fulton. The loss moved Fulton into third place in the West standings with Madisonville moving from last to second with their win over Muhlenberg. The Flash remain in second place in the East still 5.5 games behind leader and winning Dubois County who beat Paducah.

After 4 innings of play, Henderson took a commanding 5-1 lead. The Railroaders chipped away at the lead scoring single runs in the 5th and 6th innings to draw within 2 runs. The Flash answered with another run in the 7th to make a 6-3 score.

In the bottom of the 9th, the Railroaders scored one and put the tying runs on 2nd and 3rd base with no outs. The Flash sent in Brandon Diaz who struck out the next three batters to secure the win.

Aaron Euler was best for Henderson at the plate going 2 of 5 with a 3 RBI homerun. Zach Smith added a solo homerun in the effort.

For Fulton, Jared Cramer had a double and scored twice and Cody Mitchell doubled for a RBI. AJ Smith was 2 of 3 and one RBI.

Starter Marty Coursey gets the win for 5 innings allowing 6 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), 2 walks and had 5 strikeouts. Diaz picked up a save.

The loss goes to Fulton's starter Carter Bair for 3 2/3 innings giving up 8 hits, 5 earned runs, 2 walks and had 2 strikeouts.
