Miners 11, Railroaders 6. (June 29, 2017) The Miners handed the Railroaders their third straight loss in Fulton with a convincing 11-6 victory. The Miners 2nd place standing in the West remains as they keep pace 2.5 games behind the leading Hoppers who beat the Chiefs in Paducah.


The first inning of play saw both teams tie up with scoring one run each. Top of the 3rd the Miners pulled ahead scoring 3 runs. The Railroaders made made close scoring two runs in the 4th inning off a 2 RBI homerun by Zell Walker to make a 4-3 score in favor of the Miners.


Madisonville punched ahead in the top of the 5th scoring 7 runs and never looked back. Fulton managed a single run the 6th off an Andrew Rapoza solo homerun, then added two more in the 8th for the final 11-6 score.


For the Miners; David Robins lead the way going 2 for 3, 2 scores and 4 RBI, followed by Robert Strader who was 2 for 4, one score and 2 RBI.


Zell Walker was best for the Railroaders going 2 for 4, one score and 4 RBI.


Madisonville's starter Spencer Woods gets the win for 6 innings pitched, allowing 4 earned runs, 4 hits, one walk and had 5 strikeouts.


The loss goes to Railroader starter Cody Caballero for 4 innings on the mound giving up 10 runs (9 earned), 12 hits, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.


The teams meet again on Friday in Madisonville to complete the two game series.
