The Owensboro Oilers beat the Fulton Railroaders 8-7


Oilers 8, Railroaders 7. (June 14, 2017) The Oilers broke a tied game in the top of the 9th and held on to beat the Railroaders in Fulton. The Oilers extend their winning streak to 4 games while the Railroader have now dropped 2 straight.


Owensboro took an early lead scoring 4 runs in the top of the first inning. Fulton climb back into the game scoring single runs in the 1st and 2nd innings. The Railroaders tied the game in the 3rd scoring 2 runs and then took the lead in 4th with 2 more scores.


Both teams remain silent until the 8th inning when the Oilers chalked up 3 runs only to have the Railroader tie the game up in the bottom half scoring a single run.


In the top of the 9th the Oilers used 2 doubles to retake an 8-7 lead. Bottom of the inning the Railroaders had loaded the bases with one out when the Oilers turned a double play to end the game.


For Owensboro; Cody Jackson hit a 3 RBI homerun and Tanner Kehrer went 4 of 5 for 3 RBI, scored twice and had the game winning RBI.


For Fulton; Homeruns were produced by Paul Salata for 3 RBI, Hunter Higdon for 2 RBI and Zell Walker a solo shot.


Brady Austin gets the win as pitcher of record with Owensboro tool the lead. Cam Curry earned a save closing out the final half inning of play. Pablo Arevalo takes the loss for Fulton.
