‚ÄčThe Owensboro Oilers lost to the Dubois County Bombers, 7-1


The Owensboro Oilers lost to the visiting Dubois County Bombers on Tuesday evening. The final score was Oilers 1 to Bombers 7.

Dubois County took control of the game early on scoring two runs in the top of the 1st inning, then adding single runs in their portion of innings 2 and 3 to lead 4 to 0 at the end of three complete. The Bombers added one more run in the top of the 5th inning to lead 5 to 0 going into the bottom of the frame.
Owensboro tallied its only run in the bottom of the 5th inning to make the score 5 to 1, but the game was never closer. The Bombers turned three double plays in the game -- two of those with the bases loaded
Dubois County scored two add-on runs in the top of the 7th inning, and the 7 to 1 road advantage held to be final. The Bombers were paced by three solo home runs in three different innings: Zack Gray (2) and Roman Trujillo, as well as the 7.33 innings of one-run ball covered by starter Jordan Cozart.
For the Oilers, Andrew "Kirk" Kirkland went 3 for 4 with an RBI and Jose Martinez Jr. was 2 for 3 on the evening.
Dubois Co. starter Jordan Cozart earned the win.
Owensboro starter Payton Griffin took the loss.
