The Tradewater Pirates defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 7-6
As in their first game of the series, the Railroaders and Pirates battled hard to get and maintain a lead. Tradewater started the scoring in the 1st inning from a RBI ground out by Bill Pace driving in Brock Bontrager from 3rd base. Fulton responded in the top of the 2nd with a 2 RBI homer by Joe Mike to take a 2-1 lead. Top of the 3rd, Railroaders continued scoring with aggressive base running and small ball to put up 3 more runs and lead 5-1. Pirates answered in bottom of the 3rd with 4 runs using their own brand of small ball and tied the game 5-5. Both teams remained scoreless in the 4th through 6th innings. In the top of the 7th, Tradewater' starter Russ Gilliam loaded the bases with Railroaders and one out. George Kalousek came in to pitch and helped the Pirates turn a doubleplay to get out of the inning. The Railroaders relieved their starter Skylar Cobb and Justin Daily took over the mound to begin the bottom of the 7th kept the Pirates scoreless. In the top of the 8th Fulton's Chris Devarco got aboard and made to 3rd base, then scored on a passed ball to give the Railroaders a 6-5 lead. Bottom of the 8th, the Pirates got the bases loaded with 2 outs and scored when Daily walked in a run to tie the game again at 6-6. The Railroaders were scoreless in the 9th. Bottom of the 9th, Pirate Bill Pace walked then stole 2nd and 3rd. Chris Mitko came to the plate with 2 out and hit a game winning RBI single. George Kalousek takes the win for Tradewater and Justin Daily the loss for Fulton. The two teams meet again on Thursday in Fulton for the final game of the 3 game series.
