The Owensboro Oilers defeated the Marion Bobcats, 2-0

In 7 innings.  The Owensboro Oilers and Marion Bobcats completed one game of the make-up doubleheader they had rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon and evening. The Oilers shut out the visiting the visiting Bobcats in that seven-inning game by the score of 2 to 0.  The game was a scoreless pitching duel between Owensboro starter Ben Wright and his Marion counterpart Todd Brazell as they combined to scatter 4 hits between the two teams through the top of the 6th inning.  The Oilers finally broke the long chain of goose eggs to score two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Ryan Stephens singled leading off. Jordan Cessna sacrificed Stephens to second base. Stephens hustled in to score on a shallow RBI single by Ty Stetson. Stetson stole second base and moved to third base when Bo Younker singled. Younker stole second base to magnify the RBI situation. Stetson scored the important insurance run on a RBI sacrifice fly by Davey Murphy. Owensboro's defense overcame a couple of inopportune miscues to get three opportune Bobcat outs in the top of the 7th inning to secure the win, 2 to 0.  Ben Wright earned the win -- giving up just 2 hits in six innings pitched. Zach Krebs earned the save for a scoreless 7th inning. Marion's Todd Brazell is pinned with what could certainly be called a quality loss.
