The Marion Bobcats defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 8-6
The Bobcats and Railroaders split the doubleheader on Sunday with Marion taking the first game. The Bobcats shot out in the 1st inning with 3 runs on 2 hits and 2 Railroader errors. The Railroaders answered in the bottom of the 1st with 3 of their own using 4 hits and 1 Bobcat error. Marion took the lead back in the 2nd, scoring 1 run from a hit and another error by Fulton. Bottom of the 2nd, the Railroaders matched the run again to tie it at 4-4. The Bobcats put up a single run in the 4th and 5th innings to take lead a 6-4 lead. The Railroaders fought back in the bottom of the 5th to tied the game once more scoring 2 runs. A solo homerun by Cameron Chestnut in the top of the 7th gave Marion the lead again, and they added another bringing the score to 8-6. The Railroaders were unable to rebound in the bottom of the 7th. Both teams managed 12 hits each. Marion's AJ Dokey was 2 of 5 and 2 RBIs and Desmond Roberts 3 of 5, one run scored and a RBI. Roberts also picks up a win in relief, moving from right field to the mound and throwing for 1 1/3 innings. Matthew Vollenweider closed out the 7th to earn his 8th league leading save on the season. For Fulton at the plate, Tyler O'Daniel hit 3 of 5, scored once and produced 3 RBIs, and Rob Hogenkamp 2 for 3, scored twice and one RBI. Tate Glasscock took his first loss in relief and gave up his first earned run on the season.
