7 innings. The Owensboro Oilers split their Wednesday twin bill with the visiting Fulton Railroaders. The home team dropped the first game by the score of 4 to 2. Owensboro recovered to take the second game by an 8 to 4 final. In game # 1, the Railroaders single runs in the tops of the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th innings. In the top of the first inning, Mikee Moore led off the game with a single, and moved to third when Brandon Eggenschwiler singled as well. A pop fly out later Eggenschwiler got caught in a rundown and was tagged out sliding a little too far past second base -- but the chase allowed Moore to effectively steal home. In the top of the 2nd inning David Simmons singled and eventually scored on a two-out RBI single by Mike Pudlo. In the top of the 5th inning the Fulton run came by way of a solo RBI home run from Eggenschwiler. In the top of the 6th inning Brock Downey singled and eventually scored on another two-out RBI single by Mike Pudlo. Meanwhile the Oilers scored their two game #1 runs with separate tallies in the bottom of the 1st and bottom of the 6th innings. In the 1st inning Luis Mila singled. Ty Stetson sacrifice bunted him over to third base, and Drew Barrett's groundout became an effective RBI chance. Mila and Barret also factored into the Owensboro 6th inning run. Mila doubled, then stole third base. Barret delivered the RBI sacrifice fly to score Mila again. Fulton closer Tate Glasscock came in to pitch the bottom of the 7th inning. The first two Oilers reached against him, and Owensboro went so far as to load the bases with two outs. Glasscock coaxed the groundball he needed to save game #1 for the Railroaders. Fulton starter Skylar Cobb got the win and Owensboro starter Joe Devine took the loss.
