The Tradewater Pirates defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 5-3
The Pirates remain 1 game behind the Bobcats in the standings after defeating the Oilers on Friday. Tradewater scored a pair of runs in the 1st and 3rd innings for a 4-0 lead. The Oilers got on the board with one run in the 4th with the Pirates putting another single run in the 5th. Owensboro got closer in the 8th chalking up 2 more runs but were unable to produce further. Tradewater offensive was lead by Derrek Etsell 3 of 4 and a RBI. Owensboro's Ryan Stephens went 3 for 4. Starter Calyn Young earned the win for the Pirates throwing for 8 full innings, and George Kalousek picked up a save closing out the 9th. Myles Scott takes the loss pitching only 3 innings giving up 4 earned runs. The two teams go at it again tonight in Tradewater.
