The Tradewater Pirates defeated the Marion Bobcats, 4-3
In 7 innings. The Pirates showed a of level of grit and determination that you have to marvel at, as they faced the prospect of sinking lower. Instead, they made the OVL race even tighter. The Bucs and Bobs tee it off at 7pm Wednesday, back at "The River". In the opening contest, the solid pitching of Russ Gilliam lasted until the 6th, but a three run top of the frame by the Bobcats put the game in doubt, until the Pirates scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the sixth, on a wild pitch. George Kalousek came on late to seal the first game deal. Marion managed only three hits and Josh Anders took the loss. The Bobcats are 6-11 in July after the loss.
