Final Post Season Playoff Games

Final Post Season Playoff Games

By agreement the Owensboro Oilers and the visiting Fulton Railroaders played Game 2 and then Game 3 of the Playoff Championship round as seven-inning games. Fulton won the day's first game by the final score of of  2 to1. The Railroaders also won the second game played, effectively the Playoff Championship game by the score of 10 to 7. Congratulations to the Fulton Railroaders as the 2011 Playoff Champions of the OVL.  Games are won and lost because they are played out between the white lines, and Fulton played better in both of these. Nothing lessens or weakens that by pointing out that sudden unavailability took three players from the Oiler lineup between Friday and Sunday. Owensboro adjusted player positions, played hard, and reflected the champions they had become in the season. The effort made the talented Railroaders earn both games -- and they did that. Fulton can rightly be pleased with and celebrate the wins. Owensboro should be proud of  the Oilers heart-driven effort in a difficult context.
