The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Madisonville Pirates, 11-1
A strong pitching performance by Keaton Baker help Fulton win their first game at home against Madisonville. While Baker held the Pirates scoreless through 7 innings, the Railroader offense put up a 4-0 lead that included a 3 RBI homerun from Angelo Burrage, his 3rd one on the early season. After giving up 1 run in the first inning, Pirate starter Kooper Kessier held the Railroaders down until the 5th inning when Fulton's first homerun extended the lead. Kessler was pulled and 2 Pirate relievers held Fulton again until the 8th inning. The Railroaders poured it on in the 8th as the 3rd Tradewater reliever, Michael Edwards, took the mound. The 7 hit and 7 run inning included a 2 RBI double from Burrage, a 2 RBI double by Rob Hogenkamp, and a homer by Brandon Shaw for 2 RBI's. Brock Downey and Casey Tiller each pitched one inning to finish off the game for Fulton. The Pirates managed to prevent the shutout in the 9th by scoring 1 run from 2 hits and a stolen base. The Railroaders totaled 13 hits with 9 earned runs on the evening with the Pirates getting 6 hits and 1 earned run. Baker takes the win and Kessler the loss.
