The Madisonville Pirates defeated the Marion Bobcats, 5-2

The Pirates won a huge game at home as Pirate pitching featuring starter Chad Cox, middle reliever, and winner, Michael Purcell, and closer Corey Ames, allowed just seven hits and two earned runs.  The Pirates found RBI's off the bats of Fergus, Broady and Massey, as Tradewater put together a very impressive all-around victory over second place Marion, who drops to 10-7, with the Pirates back at .500 at 8-8.

The Pirates took an early 2-0 lead only to see the Bobs battle back to tie, then the Buccos bolstered the battle royale with three more, that sealed the deal in the end, as Purcell and Ames closed the door on Marion.  Hoptown lost to Fulton in the final inning of play, so the Pirates and Hoppers square off at the Elmer Saturday evening, with an expected overflow crowd on hand, with the game sponsored by Hudson Toyota.
