The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 8-5
The Railroaders won their 3rd straight and swept the Oilers in 2 games to finish their weekend schedule of games. Fulton jumped to a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning with a 2 out, 2 RBI homerun from Andrew Cash and a RBI single by Quinton Alexander. The Railroaders added another run in the 3rd and 2 more runs in each of the 5th and 6th inning for a 8-0 lead. Relief pitching by the Oilers held Fulton from further scoring.
The Oilers finally got on the board in the 7th with Dalton West leading off with a solo homer and added another from a sacrifice fly by Jordan Rhodes. Owensboro battled back in the top of the 9th scoring 3 runs from a Jordan Rhodes 2 RBI double and a RBI single by Matt Cissell. Fulton sent Cody Alvey to mound to shut down the Oilers' comeback to seal the 8-5 victory, he picks up a save.
Mike Moore and Quinton Alexander were both 3 of 4 with a RBI each, and Angelo Burrage along with Andrew Cash were 1 for 3 with 2 RBI's each for the Railroaders. Tyler Grogg for Owensboro was the only multiple hitter going 2 of 5 but no RBI's, and Jordan Rhodes' led the Oilers RBI with his 2 going 1 for 4.
Starter Tyler Saltsman pitched for 7 innings striking out 6, walking 2, giving up 5 hits and 2 earned runs, he earns the win for Fulton. Owensboro's starter Tim Johnson lasted 4 innings with 3 strikeouts, one walk, allowing 7 hits and tagged for 6 runs with 4 earned, he takes the loss.
