The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Hoptown Hoppers, 12-4

(From Hopkinsville) The Fulton Railroaders picked up 13 hits and took advantage of six Hoptown Hoppers miscues to beat the league-leading Hoppers 12-4 on Wednesday. The Railroaders scored four runs in the fourth and sixth innings to bolster the road win.

     Fulton was led by Austin Bryant, who went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and four runs batted in, and Mikee Moore, who went 3-for-5 with a double, a run and an RBI. Brandon Shaw went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored, and Rob Hogenkamp went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and three RBIs.

     Hoptown was paced by Bobby Clark, who went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Anthony Mazzella slapped a home run for the Hoppers.

     Keaton Baker got the win for the Railroaders, allowing three unearned runs on four hits, striking out seven and walking five in six innings. Christopher Flores pitched the seventh inning, striking out one and walking two, Roman Kelly pitched the eighth inning, allowing one run on one hit, walking two, and Seth Marcus pitched the ninth, striking out one and walking two.

     Taylor Veillon got the loss for the Hoppers, allowing 10 runs (eight earned) on nine hits, striking out seven and walking seven in 6-2/3 innings. Clayton Dugan came on in the seventh, and Kyle Barbee closed out the game, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out one in 2-2/3 innings.
