In 10 innings. (From Marion) A leadoff walk to start the 10th inning ended up as the game-winning run for Fulton Saturday as the Railroaders tacked on two runs in extra innings to overcome the Bobcats 6-4 at Guess Field.
     The Bobcats, who have dropped six of their last seven games, held a 4-3 lead heading into the ninth, but a walk issued to the Fulton leadoff hitter came around to score and tie the game. In the bottom of the ninth, tied 4-4, Marion's winning run was left stranded in scoring position after Tyler Bonaventure singled and stole second to lead off the inning. The Railroader bullpen kept Bonaventure on second base, striking out the side to send the game to extra frames.
     After the Railroaders two-run 10th, their bullpen stayed sharp, setting down Marion's offense 1-2-3 to end the game and keep pace with league leading Hoptown (15-7), who maintains a three-game lead over second-place Fulton (13-11). Marion dropped to fourth place at 11-12.
     Bonaventure's potential winning run was one of 13 runners left stranded on base for Marion. Fulton left only two on base. Fulton was outhit by Marion nine hits, including a double by Derek Hannahs, to only six. Alex Reiman was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Tyler Bernard went 3-for-5 with 1 RBI. Brandon Ollet had 2 RBI and Hannahs added one. Bonaventure had two hits to move to .320 on the season and lead the team with 24 hits.
     On the mound, Caleb Luttrell threw eight strong innings, giving up only two earned runs of the three that scored against him. But a home run from Fulton's Erik Manning in the eighth helped chase Luttrell from the game. Jordan Lorenzo started the ninth and gave up the tying run to Fulton. He started the 10th and gave up the game-winning run before Eli Nickell took the hill. Nickell would give up the final run of the game to ultimately allow Fulton the 6-4 win.
     Lorenzo was saddled with his first loss of the season.
