The Marion Bobcats defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 10-9
In 10 innings. A back and forth battle in Marion finally ended with the Bobcats coming out on top over the Oilers. The win breaks a 5 game Bobcat losing streak.
Marion scored 2 runs in the first inning and Owensboro came back in the 2nd to tie with two of their own. The Oilers put up 2 more runs in the fifth for a short lived lead before the Bobcats chalked up 3 runs in the sixth inning. Owensboro regained a two run lead in the top of the 8th scoring three only to see Marion tie it up in the bottom half of the inning with 2 runs. The teams remained tied through the 9th with both getting two more runs each. Bottom of the 10th the Bobcats put the winning run across with 2 singles, a sac bunt and a fielder's choice.
Clint Ambrosch led the Bobcats going 5 for 6, scoring twice, 3 RBI and the game winning hit in the extra inning of play. Tyler Grogg was best for the Oilers at 3 for 4, three runs scored and a RBI.
David Roper earned the win in relief pitching for the final 2 innings, and Colton Slank takes the loss on the mound in the 10th.
