The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Hoptown Hoppers, 6-3
The fired up Railroaders held the Hoppers to just 3 hits and runs in their win over Hoptown, and Fulton continues with a 11 game winning streak.
The Railroaders jumped to a one run lead in the 1st when Mikee Moore singled, stole 2nd and 3rd base, then scored on the only Hopper error of the evening. Hoptown tied the game in the bottom of the 2nd with two hits which included a Matt McGowan RBI triple. Fulton regained the lead in the 3rd with back to back doubles from Austin Bryant and Angelo Burrage who got the RBI. The Railroaders added another run in the 5th on a bunt single by Brandon Shaw who then advanced on a wild pitch, stole 2nd, and made it home on another wild pitch.
Fulton put up 2 more runs in the 7th with two outs after walks, wild pitches, and a passed ball a setup a stolen home plate by Austin Bryant and a RBI single from Billy O'Connor. Hoptown closed to within two scoring 2 runs using two walked batters, 2 Railroader errors and a sacrifice fly by Brett Pirtle. The Railroaders added an insurance run in the 9th with Moore leading off with a double and making home plate on an Andrew Cash RBI single.
Starting pitcher Jonathon Williams earned the win going 6 innings giving up only 2 hits and one earned run. Clayton Dugan takes the loss on the mound for 5 1/3 innings pitched and tagged with 3 runs (2 earned) and allowing 5 of the Railroaders 9 total hits. Fulton gains one game on Hoptown who remains in first place by 2 1/2 games ahead of the Railroaders.
