The Madisonville Pirates defeated the Marion Bobcats, 5-4

(From Madisonville) Closer Corey Ames and company could not close the door on the Bobcats in the top of the 9th, as Marion battled back to tie the game at 4-4. The Bobcats were down to their final strike several times, but managed to push in the tying tally, sending the Pirates to the bottom of the frame. Reliever Ethan Utley for Marion loaded the bases, but appeared to be close to taking the game to extra innings, with two strikes on Pirate outfielder Logan Crook, who played hero several times in the game in previous innings. Crook managed to bounce a ball to the infield, where a hurried throw to the plate appeared to have Trevor Haggard at the plate, but the throw escaped the catcher's secure grasp, and Haggard scored the fifth and deciding run for the Buccos, who move to 19-17 on the year.

Starter Chad Cox and reliever Hayden Marks pitched well for the Pirates, prior to Ames entering the contest in the top of the ninth. David Roper, the Marion starter, gave up early runs- three in the first and one in the third, allowing the Pirates an early lead. Trevor Haggard sped home for the Pirates with the winning run against Marion, as Logan Crook put the ball in play with two outs, and two strikes. The Pirates won it in the 9th, in a game that had high drama throughout.
