The Marion Bobcats defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 6-5

The Oilers took a short, early 1-0 lead in the first inning when Tyler Grogg singled and stole 2 bases then scored on a Bobcat error. The Bobcats gained a 4-1 lead in the fourth with a Jake Pewitt 2 RBI homer, a Tyler Bernard RBI triple and a Greg Lining RBI single. The Oilers tied the game up scoring 3 runs in the fifth using 4 hits including two doubles by Taylor Mathews and Christian McHatton. Marion regained the lead in the sixth from a 2RBI double by Derek Hannahs. Owensboro closed to within one run in the 9th with a single score when Grogg again singled, stole two bases and scored on a Tyler Tichenor sacrifice fly.

     James Dyer gets the win starting for Owensboro and going 6 innings, and Eli Nichell a save for throwing the final 3 innings. Starter Tim Johnson takes the loss for the Oilers pitching for 5 2/3 innings.
