The Madisonville Pirates defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 8-7
The Pirates came from behind to beat the Railroaders and tie the best of 3 series at a game each, the third game to be played in Fulton on Friday.
The Railroaders scored one run in the first innings and added four more in the fourth for a commanding 5-0 lead on the Pirates. Tradewater got their first two runs in the 5th with a 2 RBI homerun by Logan Leverett. Fulton added another run in the 5th inning, only to see the Pirates get a second 2 RBI homer by Logan Crook in the 7th. The Railroaders put up one more run in the 8th to extend their lead to 7-4 going into the ninth inning.
Cody Alvey was called in to close out the win in the top of the 9th, and struck out the first 2 batters. Logan Crook singled then advanced to 3rd on an error when Trevor Harrard reached base on a dropped third strike with a bad throw to first. Kyle Neimeier walked to load the bases with 2 outs. Michael Roehrig stepped up and promptly hit the Pirates 3rd homerun, a grand slam to give Madisonville an 8-7 lead. Michael Edwards was called upon to finish off the bottom of the inning striking out 3 Railroaders to save the game.
Zach Uher gets the win as the pitcher of record going three innings in relief. Cody Avley takes the loss with the go ahead run scoring in the final inning.
Friday's game will decided which team will advance to the final round in the Post Season Playoffs.
