(From Hopkinsville) (completion of Game 2 from Thursday) Marion scored all six of its runs in the first three innings and held on as Hoptown made a push at the end of the game that was interrupted Thursday night by a thunderstorm. The game was completed as part of a double-header on Friday in Hopkinsville.

The Bobcats scored three runs in the top of the first inning when Jordan Lorenzo led off with a single and stole second. Tyler Bonaventure was hit by a pitch, and Greg Liming drew a one-out walk to load the bases.      Hoptown answered in the bottom half of the inning when Brett Pirtle led off with a triple and scored on a two-out single by Philip Menou to get within 3-1.

The Bobcats tacked on three more runs in the third inning when Clint Ambrosch hit a one-out double and took third on a wild pitch. Davey Murphy drew a two-out walk and stole second before Spencer Wilson stepped up a slapped a two-run ground-rule double, scoring Ambrosch and Murphy. Wilson scored on a single by Lorenzo to push out to a 6-1 lead.

The game was halted Thursday night in the middle of the fourth inning when lightning from an approaching thunderstorm halted play and the decision was made to conclude the game from that point on Friday.

When play resumed Hoptown began an offensive push in the fifth inning when Jake Sandlin hit a one-out single and scored on a home run by Brad Sevenish to narrow the Marion lead to 6-3.

The Hoppers plated another run in the seventh inning when Menou hit a one-out single, took second on a wild pitch and scored on Sevenish's single to pull Hoptown to within 6-4.

Hoptown scored in the eighth inning when Fernando Tanaka led off with a walk and took second on a wild pitch. He took third base on a flyout, then scored on a groundout to cut the Bobcat lead to 6-5, but that was as close as the Hoppers would get, forcing a third game in the series.
