The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 7-5
In Huntingburg IN. The Bombers debut in the OVL resulted in a home win against the Railroaders. The closely battled game tied at 4 after four innings until the top of seventh inning. The Railroaders scored one run to take a 5-4 lead taking advantage of the only Bomber error in the game. The Bombers failed to score in the bottom of the half of the seventh but went to work in the eighth inning. After the lead off batter reach on single, former Railroader Rick Linton stepped in and knocked a 2 RBI homerun that hit the left field scoreboard. The Bomber finished the inning adding another run on a wild pitch. Dubois County sent closer Clint Chestnut in to finish off Fulton 's final three batters in the ninth. Johnathan Williams picks up the win in relief for Dubois County and Chestnut a save. Sean Cunningham takes the rough loss.
Offensively the game saw 8 total stolen bases with 17 hits (Bombers 10, Railroaders 7). Both teams sent 32 batters to the plate and each had 5 RBI. A great game for begin the season. The two teams meet again on Monday in Fulton to make up Saturday's rainout. Time of first pitch is 7:05 pm.
