The Madisonville Pirates defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 8-3
The Owensboro Oilers lost Tuesday night's home game to the visiting Madisonville Tradewater Pirates. The final score was 8 to 3 for the Pirates.
Madisonville relied on the big inning, scoring four runs in the top of the 3rd inning, three runs in the 6th inning, then adding a run in the top of the 8th inning. These visiting outbreaks overcame and outmatched one run innings from the Oilers in the bottom of the 1st, 4th, and 7th innings.
Scoring for Owensboro in the 1st inning was Tyler Tichenor (reached on an error), batted in by Dalton West(RBI fielder's choice). Scoring For Madisonville in the the 3rd inning were Garrett Emling (single), Cody White (fielder's choice), Dathan Prewett (RBI single) and Marc Noyalis (2 RBI triple). Prewett drove in Emling, Noyalis' triple plated White and Prewett. Noyalis scored on a RBI single from Samuel Gilbert. Scoring for Owensboro in the fourth inning was Matthew Johnson (singled), driven in by Cameron Wallace (RBI singe). Scoring for the Pirates in the 6th inning were Robert Veltre (single), Ty Broady (walked), Emling (reached on an error). All three scored on a bases loaded 3 RBI triple by Alfredo Bohorquez. Scoring for the Oilers in the 7th inning was Brent Carmichael (single), on an RBI single from Austin Edge. Scoring for Madisonville in the 8th inning was Emling for the third time in the game (singled), driven in by another RBI single for Prewett.
Madisonville starter Heath Kelley went six innings for the win. It was only a 4-2 deficit when Owensboro starter Christian McHatton left the game, but he took the loss.
