The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 4-2
(From Fulton) The Railroaders (2-3) got their first win at home on Friday against the Oilers (2-3). Fulton scored 2 in first inning from three hits, a double and 2 singles. Owensboro tied the game up at 2 each in the third inning using a RBI on a fielder's choice and RBI double. Bottom of the fourth inning; the Railroaders picked up 2 more runs scoring off a passed ball and a sacrifice bunt with a running on third. Fulton totaled 9 hits, stranded 10 on base and had one error. Owensboro picked up 6 hits, left 8 runners on base and committed 2 errors.
For Fulton; Taylor Douglas had 2 RBI and was 2 of 4 with a double, Hunter Owen went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and one scored. Both Colton Simbeck and Matt Skrzpiec contributed doubles to the effort. For Owensboro; Cody Rogers and Hunter Newman both were 2 for 4 with a RBI double for Newman. Tyler Tichenor was 1 of 4 with a RBI and run scored.
Starter Thomas Huddleston earned his first win going 6 innings allowing 5 hits with 2 earned runs, and struck out 7 only giving up 2 walks. Cable Shelley and John Lollar each pitched one inning in relief, and Colin Hatch closed out the 9th inning to earn a save. Taylor Grisham takes the loss for the Oilers throwing 5 innings, he was tagged for 4 runs (only 2 earned), 7 hits, 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.
