The Owensboro Oilers defeated the Hoptown Hoppers, 4-3

(From Owensboro) The Owensboro Oilers won a 10th inning to take Saturday night's ballgame with the visiting Hopkinsville Hoppers. The final score was Oiers 4 to Hoppers 3.
     Owensboro scored first with one run in the bottom of the 1st inning. Lead-off hitter Tyler Tichenor singled, stole second base and eventually scored with two outs on a defensive error.
     Hopkinsville tied the game with a run in the top of the 3rd inning. Drew Allen led off with a walk, stole second base, and moved to third base on a wild pitch. Allen scored on a RBI ground out from Brandon Bogetto.
     The Oilers retook the lead by a run in the bottom of the 6th inning. Brendan Reid led off with a single, then stole second base. A single by Tichenor put Reid on third base. Tichenor also stole second base. With one out Cody Rogers executed an RBI sacrifice squeeze bunt to plate Reid and send Tichenor to third base. Owensboro added a run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Hunter Newman tripled with two outs in the inning, then scored on a wild pitch before the third out.
     The Hoppers stayed in the game by scoring two runs in the top of the 9th inning. Mason Colquitt led off with a walk and eventually scored from third base with one out as three of the next four batters (Matt McGowan, Seth Larue, and Bogetto) were each hit by pitches -- with Bogetto earning an RBI for Colquitt's run. Clayton Evans followed with an RBI groundout scoring McGowan. The Oilers ended the Hopkinsville threat, but not before the game was all knotted up.
     The score remained 3 to 3 into extra innings before Owensboro decided it in the bottom of the 10th inning. With one out Rogers walked. Newman, Austin Edge and Christian McHatton followed with three consecutive singles. McHatton's was the the game-winning RBI for bringing Rogers home.
     Owensboro reliever Kellon Hibbard had the win, following another strong start by Shane Weedman. Hopkinsville pitcher Trevor Blocker took the loss.
